This boy is drop-dead gorgeous with his golden yellow color, long white mane and tail, and thick conformationally correct build. He pulls in the compliments wherever he goes! Tater is as broke as you could ask for with a reining-type handle. He has three fluid gaits and will drag his nose in the dirt on a loose rein. Tater has correct spins, sliding stops, walk to lope transitions, a one-handed neck rein, and is responsive to leg pressure. Tater is good with time off and is not one that will try to leave you on the ground. This boy is good-minded and well-behaved. He has good ground manners, is penned next to my geldings, I pony my mare off of him, and is polite in the warmup pen- even with thirty different horses stepping on his heels. I cannot count the number of times I have shocked people by letting them know he is a stud. However, with that said, he is still a stallion and has his moments so I would like him to go to someone who has experience with studs. He currently has 10 foals with his oldest foal crop being three and his youngest being two. Most of his foals are out of own daughters and are expected to go on as performance horses. If you are looking for a top-quality addition to your breeding/performance program, then this is the horse to take a look at. Tater has a great disposition and would also make a fantastic gelding if that is the direction someone wanted to go with him. I have no doubt he will excel in whatever direction someone would like to take him. This boy was started on the pattern about a year ago and is showing immense promise. He is currently being seasoned and is ready to continue being hauled. He has won some money and was in the 2D at the Glacier Barrel Bash with 144 entries. He is easy-going and not one to get excited at the gate or when warming up. Tater also spent some time on the ranch and the feedlot roping and moving cattle. Additionally, he has been started out of the box tracking calves and has the makings of a talented rope horse. Tater has a fantastic disposition and meets you at the gate to be caught with a nicker (especially if you have food!). He is great for the farrier, loads and unloads himself in the trailer, travels well, and stands without a fuss at the trailer all day long. Tater is UTD on shoeing, chiropractic, dental, vaccines, and will come with a recent set of X-rays. I have owned this horse for over a year and a half and the idea of selling him is not an easy one as he is very much loved here. However, I have decided to focus on futurity prospects and am not able to keep them all (don't we all wish funds weren't an issue and we could!) so I have decided to offer him now before I change my mind and sell a kidney instead ๐.
